Prodution Process Of Powergate FRP Pultruded Grating
PowerGrate Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Pultruded Grating is manufactured by assembling two structural fiberglass shapes (cross and bearing bars) into a grid pattern. These bar shapes are made by a pultrusion a continuous molding process utlizing glass or fibrous reinforcement in a polyester or vinyl ester resin matrix. Selected reinforcement materials like glass strands, mat or cloth are drawn through a resin where the material is thoroughly impregnated with a liquid resin. The fibrous laminate is formed to a geometric shape (T or 1) and pulled through a heated steel die. The laminate solidifies into the exact shape of the die cavity as it is being continuously pulled by the pultrusion machine.
Standard Resin Systems
The major types of resin of PowerGrate FRP pultruded grating are available: Isophthalic (moderate chemical corrosion), Vinyl ester (severe chemical corrosion) and Phenolic (low smoke&fire resistance)
lsophthalic Resin System
This resin formulation provides a flame spread rating of less than 25 according to ASTM E84norm. Gratings in this resin formulation are designed to be used in moderate corrosive environments where splashes and spills of harsh chemicals are likely.
VinyI Ester Resin System
This resin formulation provides a flame spread rating of less than 25 according to ASTM E84 norm. Gratings in this resin formulation are designed to be used in highly corrosive environmentswhere the contact of harsh chemicals is frequent.
Phenolic Resin System
This resin formulation provides superior resistance to flame and high temperature with low emissions of smoke and toxic fumes. The feature makes the grating ideal for a wide range of offshore, marine, transportation and industrial applications.
